Welcome to Lambda MicroVM Demo Playground
A Lambda MicroVM is a fully serverless, lightweight VM with true VM-level isolation β its own kernel, filesystem, memory, and vCPU. It's a safe, disposable place to run workloads that demand strong isolation: AI agents, untrusted code, a web IDE, a stateful server, or a long-running task.
- Strong VM-level isolation Each MicroVM has its own kernel, vCPU, memory, disk β the right place to run untrusted or AI-generated code.
- Starts in near real-time Snapshot-based startup means a full MicroVM is ready almost instantly β minimizing cold-start tax.
- Suspend & resume MicroVMs suspend automatically when idle and resume on incoming traffic β or do either on demand via the API.
- Stateful Memory and disk stay intact across suspend/resume, so state persists as long as the MicroVM exists (up to 8 hours).
- Ingress & egress controls Enable or disable inbound traffic, guarded by a short-lived access token. For egress, run public, in a private VPC, or fully isolated with no egress at all.
- Fully serverless No servers or clusters to manage: a MicroVM runs on demand, suspends when idle, and you pay for compute only while it's actually running.
- Any container image Just a standard container built from an ordinary Dockerfile β if it runs in a container, it can run on a MicroVM.
- Vertical burst scaling A MicroVM gets the resources it requests at startup, and can instantly use up to 4Γ more the moment it needs it β no action or restart required.
